Join us for the People's Climate March in NYC, Sept 21!
On Sunday, September 21, we expect up to 100,000 people to take part in the People's Climate March in New York City, including people of faith, environmental groups, labor and many others--calling on world leaders to commit to a strong climate change treaty. Join Quaker Earthcare Witness and other Friends to march in the Quaker contingent.
The march will start at 11:30 am from Columbus Circle. The route for the People's Climate March is: http://www.quakerearthcare.org/article/approved-route-peoples-climate-march
The faith contingent will be gathering on 58th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues (enter from 9th Ave). A Multi-faith prayer service will begin at 11 am and run until we leave for the march (most likely between 12:30 to 1:30) (see http://peoplesclimate.org/faith/logistics-for-the-interfaith-contingent/ for more details). We expect to start gathering at 10am – bring snacks, songs, patience and flexibility. We will have a Meeting for Worship on the street, as we are led. ALL OF THESE TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE.
In addition, there will be a 9:30 am Meeting for Worship at 15th Street Meetinghouse (15 Rutherford Place).
