Outreach/Ministry Committee

The Outreach Committee explores ideas to help expand the network of Friends who see themselves as Quaker "Earthcare witnessess" and ways to support Friends who carry a concern for our right relationship with all Creation.

Programs. At the FGC Gathering each year this committee has oversight of the workshops and speakers featured in our Earthcare Center and of the volunteers posted at the Center to explain our work and invite folks to be a part of our network. The committee also helps identify speakers and activities at QEW's Annual Meeting each year.

Visitation. This committee also has oversight of QEW Steering Committee members visiting Yearly Meetings.

Yearly Meeting Relationships. It works with YM Earthcare FUN groups where they exist and helps interested Friends start such groups where they do not yet exist.

Publications. It works closely with the Publications Committee to ensure that QEW publications are appropriate to the outreach work of QEW.

Monthly Meeting Contacts. It oversees communication with Monthly Meeting Contacts in Yearly Meetings without an Earthcare/FUN group and encourages Yearly Meeting committees in those YMs that have an active group to identify contacts in each of their Monthly Meetings. (Clerk: Hollister Knowlton)
