Quaker Eco-Bulletin

Quaker Eco-Bulletin (QEB) The Quaker Eco-Bulletin is published bi-monthly by Quaker Earthcare Witness as an insert in BeFriending Creation. QEB's purpose is to advance Friends' witness on public and institutional policies that affect the earth's capacity to support life. QEB articles aim to inform Friends about public and corporate policies that have an impact on society's relationship to the earth, and to provide analysis and critique of societal trends and institutions that threaten the health of the planet. QEB is now under the oversight of the QEW Publications Committee.

Quaker Eco-Bulletin guidelines

Quaker Eco-Bulletin (QEB) is a publication of Quaker Earthcare Witness, produced bi-monthly as an insert page in BeFriending Creation. Each issue of QEB is a two-page article about timely legislative or corporate policy issues affecting our society's relationship to the Earth. QEB provides:

A. Information from a faith-based perspective about upcoming government or corporate policy decisions.

B. Sources for additional information.

C. Action opportunities.

QEB's purpose is to inform the QEB network as part of an effort to help advance Friends' witness on government and corporate policy as it relates to the ecosystems which sustain us. QEB's perspective is based on QEW's Mission Statement and Guidance Statement on Policy.

QEB is circulated in three forms: as an e-mail message, as an insert in BeFriending Creation, and as a posting on the Quaker Earthcare Witness website.

To receive QEB in e-mail form, send an e-mail request to info@QuakerEarthcare.org.

To receive QEB by mail, write to Quaker Earthcare Witness, 173-B N. Prospect St., Burlington VT 05401-1607 USA.

Quaker Eco-Bulletin submissions should be based on the following guidelines and are subject to editing:

  1. Provide background information that reflects the complexity of the issue and is respectful toward other points of view.
  2. Explain why the issue is a Friends concern.
  3. Describe the positions of other faith-based and secular environmental groups on the issue.
  4. Relate the issue to legislation or corporate policy.
  5. Provide sources for additional information.
