Quaker Earthcare Witness is a network of Friends (Quakers) in North America and other like-minded people who are taking spirit-led action to address the ecological and social crises of the world from a spiritual perspective, emphasizing Quaker process and testimonies.

While QEW supports reforms in laws, technology, education, and institutions, its primary calling is to facilitate transformation of humans' attitudes, values, identity, and worldview that underlie much of the environmental destruction going on in the world today.

You can be part of QEW's work by giving of your time, talents, and financial support, becoming a QEW contact for your Meeting, starting an Earthcare group in your meeting, reading and sharing BeFriending Creation and other QEW literature, and leading Earthcare activities in your Meeting.

We hope you enjoy your time exploring our site, and that you learn more about Quaker Earthcare Witness and sign up to receive our publications while you're here.

April Connections and May Mini-Grants

As a network of Friends who are carrying a concern for Earthcare, we meet twice a year to set policy, reconnect with each other, share stories of our work, and help each other strengthen our spiritual core. We do this through Meeting for Worship, worship-sharing, Meeting for business, time for committees and working groups to meet, informal discussions and sharing meals, walks to the Lake (we will meet six blocks from Lake Michigan) and (often) impromptu singing.

Action & Contemplation at the QEW Spring Meeting in Chicago--Going on Now!

Saturday April 12

The Spring 2014 QEW Steering Committee meeting is going on now at the Cenacle Retreat & Conference Center in Chicago, Illinois. QEW Friends come from all over to gather, share stories, participate in committee meetings, and spend time in worship and fellowship. We enjoy wonderful (and Earth-friendly) vegetarian meals, times of silence and celebration, and learn about and discuss a wide range of concerns and emerging responses on behalf of our planet. We hope you join us for one of our upcoming gatherings!
